Chapter 15- In this chapter, Jon Krakauer, the author, is having difficulties when climbing the Devil's Thumb but through his complications, decides to take little steps in order to reach the peak of this dangerous obstacle. Throughout the chapter, Jon talks about the things he does while trying to fight the weather and nature surrounding him. He also starts to mention his life when growing up around his father. When talking about how he grew up with a father that expected the best from him and forcing him to do things he didn't find as interesting, Jon realizes that many of his traits are similarly related to Chris McCandless and his life. Jon grew up loving nature and loved going on adventurous trips just as Chris did. Jon also had a personality of being free and not wanting to follow rules like everyone else. But the differences were that Jon didn't have as much of an urge to live in the wild as Chris and therefore Jon hadn't been as closely similar. Even through all these events, Chris and Jon wanted to back into the society and Jon felt as though Chris didn't want to die in Alaska.
